Man of the Match Award no Consolation for Dunt

Prestatyn goalkeeper Jon Hill-Dunt produced a string of outstanding saves to be named man of the match against Neath at the Gnoll on Saturday, but that was no consolation as he spoke with Robert Clement after the game;

"It's nice to play well, but it's never nice to lose especially with Kai Edwards, an old team-mate popping up to score, as Jack Lewis did when we played here at Neath last October, so they’ve both come back to bite us".

Dunt had been manager Neil Gibson's first-choice 'keeper since the Seasiders' joined the League, but he has faced competition for that role between the posts from ex-Newtown stoper Dave Roberts.

"I've played the last three years in the league, but Dave has come in; he's done really well, but I've been given a chance, so I'm going to try and take it because I want to play until the end of the season."

Hill-Dunt was then commended, raising his game to thwart Lee Trundle on a number of occasions.

"Yes, Lee is one of the best strikers in the league, so it was nice to keep him at bay, but then you've got Kai Edwards whose the left back scoring, so it was still disappointing to lose".

"The game plan appeared to work so well for seventy minutes.

"Yes we came to try to frustrate Neath and hit them on the break, and I don't think that Lee Kendall had a save to make, with it being one of those days. It's nice to play well, we haven't been picking up results so it was good to put in a good performance, but at the same time it was disappointing to lose".

He was then asked what are Prestatyn Town's targets for the rest of the season.

He replied, "Like Neil Gibson said in the press, we're not going to win the league, and maybe fifth, try and catch Bala, but obviously we're going to have a good say on whose going to win the league.

"So we're just going to keep on going, keep picking up a few more points and then when the European qualification comes in, we want to be in that final once again, like we did last year and go one extra step".
